Nagar Kirtan From Pehowa To Thakat Sri Patna Sahib (April 2012)



With the blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, in continuous celebration of 300th Gurta Gurgaddi, Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji Pehowa Wale carried out the fifth and final Nagar Kirtan from Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar in Pehowa to Thakat Sri Patna Sahib in Bihar.The Nagar Kirtan which took months of planning and organisation was the fifth of five carried out to each individual Thakat from Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar in Pehowa since the 300th Gurta Gurgaddi celebrations began back in 2008.

Baba Ji had carried out an Ardas in October 2008 to undertake five Nagar kirtans. The first took place in October 2008 from Sri Fathegarh Sahib to Thakat Sri Hazur Sahib. The second took place in March 2009 from Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar in Pehowa to Sri Akal Thakat Sahib. The third in March 2010 from Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar in Pehowa to Thakat Sri Kesgarh Sahib. The fourth took place in March 2011 from Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar in Pehowa to Thakat Sri Damdama Sahib. The final once took place in April of 2012 from Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar in Pehowa to Thakat Sri Patna Sahib.

With thousands arriving at Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar in Pehowa and ardas was carried out by both Jathedar Singh Sahib Gianni Gurbachan Singh of Sri Akal Thakat Sahib and Jathedar Singh Sahib Gianni Trilochan Singh of Sri Kesgarh Sahib. With all mass preparations in place the Nagar Kirtan left for Thakat Sri Patna Sahib some 1350km away on the morning of 5th April 2012. Sangat from all over the world in an entourage with Sri Guru Granth Sahib flourished the street of Haryana through to Delhi where arrangement was made for a night stay at Gurdwara Majnu Ka Dilla Sahib in Delhi.

Greeting Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji with fireworks of roses, sangat in thousands stood witness to the large scale event passing through Delhi. Having had arrangement for Langar and accommodation the Nagar Kirtan set off again at Amrit Vela on the 6th April 2012 to Kanpur. On route sangat at Gurdwara Guru Ka Dhal in Agra awaited the much talked about mass Nagar Kirtan and upon arrival paid tribute to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.
Following a second night stay in Kanpur the 50km long barricade of sangat again set off at Amrit Vela on the 7th April 2012 for the final night stay in Mohina just short of the borders of Bihar. With commando police escorting the Palki Sahib, villages upon villages witnessed Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji travel alongside thousands to the holy birth place of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Echoing praises of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Nagar Kirtan following days of travelling finally arrived at Thakat Sri Patna Sahib during the afternoon of the 8th April 2012. Jathedar Singh Sahib Giaani Iqbal Singh welcomed the Nagar Kirtan and greeted the thousands who had also taken part.
Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji had specifically made to order a 1.5kg Pure Gold Chaur Sahib in addition to a 1.5kg Pure Gold Chhattar which was specially donated to Thakat Sri Patna Sahib. Addressing the sangat Gianni Iqbal Singh congratulated Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji for undertaking such huge scale efforts in bringing sangat from every corner of the world together to all five Thakats in continuous celebration of the 300th Gurta Gurgaddi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. He further went onto state that many people had now forgotten about the 300th Gurta Gurgaddi celebrations, however Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji still having such devotion and inspiration to continue the celebrations, illustrated the love Baba Ji has for Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Baba Ji was presented with a Siropa from Singh Sahib Gianni Iqbal Singh in appreiation of the efforts and in gratefulness towards Baba Ji in bringin the thousands in the form of the Nagar Kirtan to Sri Patna Sahib. Baba Ji thanked Singh Sahib Giaani Iqbal Singh for paying tribute to the Nagar Kirtan and taking part in the celebrations.

A rehnsbhai Kirtan Darbar then took place and In address to the sangat Baba Ji said with the blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj the effort to undertake Five Nagar Kirtans across almost 5000km of villages and streets of India was now complete and all sangat who had taken part had created an element of history for generations to come. Baba Ji stated people in hundreds of years would remember such events and look back at how much love Sikhs had for Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Baba Ji stated all Nagar Kirtans were only successful with the blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
