Tour of Nairobi, Africa August 2006
With the Blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj, Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji Pehowa Wale visited Kenya for the second time on 9th August 2006. The tour was planned for a period of 11 days in which Sangat from all over the world arrived to take part in the various Kirtan Darbars carried out throughout East Africa.
Nairobi being the capital city, Baba Ji performed Kirtan Darbars at many of its Gurdwara Sahibs, An Amrit Sanchar was carried out and many members of the African Sangat took Amrit and joined our Beloved Guru Ji’s Khalsa Panth.
Sangat at many of the Gurdwara Sahibs namely Ramgarhia Sikh Temple, Sri Gurdwara Bazar, Sri Gurdwara Ramgarhia Sahib (Railway), all showed great gratitude by attending every Diwan which took place. Projection Screens were put into place in order to cater for the Sangat which was unable to find room in the Darbar Sahibs. Many people began to shed tears as Baba Ji carried out the Kirtan Darbar, telling the Sangat great Sakhis of Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj Rara Sahib Wale.
A number of people told Baba Ji they had met Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji, when they first came to East Africa in the early 1950's. A family based in Nairobi also mentioned that Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji told them, when they were to grow up, they would be successful in all areas of life. The family stressed we realise now the great Bachan Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji told us.

During the 11 day tour Baba Ji alongside the Jatha also visited Makindu Sikh Temple, based approx 300km from Nairobi and 300km from Mombassa. Here an African man had Darshan of Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Mahraj in the early 1920’s. When the Sikhs left East Africa due to constantly being invaded, they left behind the duty of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Di Sewa to the African person. Some years passed by and one night the man stated a person on a horse wearing a flume upon his turban came out of the sky, telling the man to take greater care when carrying out the Sewa. The African man did his best but, the next day the person on the horse came again telling him to take greater care. The African man, went to find some Sikhs and informed them of the incidents and occurrence of this person on a horse and told the Sikhs to take Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. The Sikhs showed the man a Saroop of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and the African man stated this was the person coming down at night to confront him.
Upon realising that this was Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, the Sikhs built a Gurdwara Sahib there in remembrance of the occurrence during the early 1920’s. Baba Ji was given a Siropa from the Gurdwara Sahib in Makindu and upon stage Baba Ji stated all requests of a Gursikh could be obtained from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, providing one had faith and love for Guru Ji. Baba Ji informed the Sangat that the tour was only successful due to the Blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.
