Tour of Europe April 2009 - May 2009

With the blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji visited Europe from mid April 2009 until mid May 2009. Upon numerous requests by the Sangat and Gurdwara Sahibs throughout Europe Baba Ji arrived in Barcelona, Spain to take part in the Vaisakhi 2009 celebrations.

Sangat from all corners of the globe also arrived in Barcelona, Spain to join Baba Ji and take part in the celebrations. Having been largely welcomed by the Spanish Sangat upon arrival, a three day kirtan programme was arranged throughout many Gurdwara Sahibs in Spain. Baba Ji was also requested to take part in the Nagar Kirtan which took place in Barcelona. Having carried out kirtan and taken part in the celebrations, an Amrit Sanchar was carried out and Baba Ji thanked the Sangat stating in the next tour a longer period would be allocated to the Spanish Sangat.

Baba Ji then travelled to Italy, where yet again Sangat welcomed Baba Ji at the Airport with flowers and Bole So Nihaal De Jikareh. Kirtan Darbars were held throughout many Gurdwara Sahibs in Milan, Brescia and Rome, where sangat in the thousands attended to take part in the Vaisakhi celebrations. Upon several requests by the Gurdwara Sahib Committees and the Sangat of Italy, Baba Ji was requested to be at the forefront of the largest nagar kirtan in Italy and carry out kirtan throughout its entire journey. The large scale Nagar Kirtan witnessed in excess of 100,000 members of Sangat and Baba Ji carrying out kirtan continuously for 4 hours. Sangat in the thousands all marched through the streets of Brescia, following the lead of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Baba Ji then travelled to Belgium, where yet again Kirtan Darbars were arranged and the sangat welcomed Baba Ji at all the diwaans. Baba Ji met with the authorities of Belgium and requested that permission for a Nagar Kirtan be given to the Sangat of Belgium, such that Sikhs living there could also celebrate the Birth of the Khalsa on a national level each year. Following the diwaans an Amrit Sanchar was carried out and Baba Ji thanked the Sangat alongside the Gurudwara Sahib for showing such love.

Kirtan Darbars were then arranged in many Gurdwara Sahibs throughout Germany and Holland, where Baba Ji congratulated the Sangat and stated it was with the blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji than Sikhs could be found in all corners of the world, celebrating the Birth of the Khalsa Panth.

Following the Germany and Holland programmes, the opening of a newly built Gurdwara Sahib in Vienna, Austria was due to take place. Baba Ji had laid the first foundation stone some years ago, thus the Gurdwara Sahib Committee requested Baba Ji to take part in the opening and carry out Kirtan Darbars in celebration of the opening. Sangat again in the thousands welcomed Baba Ji and asked Baba Ji give a longer period next time they visited Europe. An Amrit Sanchar was carried out and Baba Ji was presented with a Siropa from the Gurdwara Sahib.

Baba Ji then travelled to Paris, France where the final kirtan darbars were organised in three Gurdwara Sahibs across Paris. The French Sangat surrounded Baba Ji's car on arrival at the Gurdwara Sahib and welcomed Baba Ji with Boleh So Nihaal De Jikareh and flowers, to show their appreciation of Baba Ji visiting. Baba Ji carried out three kirtans, followed by an Amrit Sanchar, informing the French Sangat that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was our everlasting Guru Sahib and that all faith should be vested in our Shabad Guru.

Baba Ji thanked the Sangat across Europe for their illustration of love and unity and stated they would return in 2010, taking out a longer period, such that each country within Europe would get a greater time period and more diwaans. Baba Ji stated the entire tour was only successful due to the blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
