Tour of Canada June 2009

With the blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji Pehowa Wale visited Canada in June 2009. Although there were strong beliefs that Baba Ji would never visit Canada again, after numerous requests from the Canadian Sangat Baba Ji arrived in Vancouver to be greeted by hundreds of Sikhs. Kirtan Darbars were arranged throughout Canada in which Baba Ji continued to preach the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Having arrived at Gurdwara Kalgidhar Sahib in Abbotsford, hundreds of Sikhs were waiting inside the Darbar Sahib of the Gurdwara Sahib to greet Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji and listen to their kirtan. However a handful of drunken, paid non Sikhs aimed to protest outside the Gurdwara Sahib in order to stop the furtherance of Sikhi being preached by Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji. Various attempts had been made to contact the protesters to discuss what issue they had. However no response had been received and it came to light that they had no respect for Guru Granth Sahib Ji as they intended to enter the Gurdwara Sahib in a drunken state and protest simply to defame the reputation of Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji.

However preventing any beadbi to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and maintaining upmost respect as a forefront for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Baba Ji decided not to carry out kirtan as it was a possibility the drunken protesters would enter the Darbar Sahib and disrespect Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Independent media reports within Canada, weighing up the issue in question had come to the conclusion that certain individuals were merely jealous of the Achievements, Sewa and Following of Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji and therefore had tried their upmost to stop Baba Ji doing kirtan.

Alternatively, Kirtan Darbars were held in other locations throughout Canada, with large followings present at each location. Baba Ji continued to preach Sikhism at each Kirtan Darbar and urged the Sikh community to move forward as one, preaching Sikhism in a peaceful manner to our fourth coming generations. Baba Ji reinforced that they did not want to cause any conflict between any individuals as the mission they had dedicated their entire life to, was to preach the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Canada wide media had discussed the issue on air and having concluded the protest was a mere attempt to defame Baba Ji, a large number of the Sikh Sangat continued to offer their upmost love and support to Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji. Thousands of the followers who came to offer their support to Baba Ji, congratulated them for maintaining respect for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and not allowing any beadbi to take place within the Gurdwara Sahib. They also stated that it was Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji who had many years ago first encouraged them into Sikhism and to take Amrit and therefore they would stand hand in hand with Baba Ji for years to come.

The Canadian Sangat presented Baba Ji with a Siropa to show their appreciation of Baba Ji visiting and stated arms would be held open for years to come. Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji stated they would visit Canada again in the near future in which further numerous large Kirtan Darbars, followed by Amrit Sanchaars would be arranged throughout Canada. Baba Ji stated the Canada tour was only successful due to the blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
