Tour of California August 2008

With the blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji visited California in continuous celebration of the 300th Gurgaddi Devas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Baba Ji arrived at San Francisco International Airport on the 21st August 2008, where hundreds of members of sangat awaited Baba Ji with flowers.

Sangat from all over the world including Canada, UK, Europe, Australia and various corners of the United States also arrived at the newly opened Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar (Sacramento), to join Baba Ji for the religious celebrations. Illustrated by the sangat’s love, a limousine vehicle was used to transport Baba Ji around many areas of California including Los Angeles, Sacramento, Bakersfield, Yuba City, Stockton, Turlock, Fresno, Fremont, El Sobrante and San Jose. Numerous Kirtan Darbars were held throughout various Gurdwara Sahibs in California in which various other Sant Mahapuraks also took part in the celebrations.

Daily Sant Smagams were also carried out at Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar (Sacramento), where Sant Baba Avtar Singh Ji Dhoolkhot Wale, Sant Baba Manmohan Singh Ji Barneh Wale, Sant Baba Harbhajan Singh Ji, including many others all performed Kirtan and congratulated Baba Ji and the Sangat on coming together and celebrating Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s 300th Anniversary. Although the programme was not pre planned, sangat attended in masses and were appreciative that a place of worship was open where only Sri Guru Granth Sahib led from the forefront.

Baba Ji informed the Sangat that the Gurdwara Sahib was opened solely with the blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and all who wished to do sewa were to maintain one chain of thought. That being: Sab Sikhan Ko Hukam Hai Guru Maniyo Granth. Baba Ji informed that all efforts and successes were only possible by coming under the fold of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

In addition to the continuous 13 thousand 13 hundred and 13 Sri Akhand Path Sahibs being carried out at Gurdwara Sackhand Isher Darbar Pehowa, Baba Ji informed the sangat that a nagar kirtan from Gurdwara Sachkand Isher Darbar Pehowa to Gurdwara Sackhand Sri Hazoor Sahib Nanded, would take place over a period of two weeks in celebration of the 300th anniversary celebrations. The nagar kirtan was planned to stop off and all major Gurdwara Sahibs, in which all taking part would be dressed in Kesri Bana marching through the villages of Panjab through to Nanded.

Emotions ran high as Baba Ji left for the return flight to India, however arms were left open by the sangat for Baba Ji to visit in the coming future. Baba Ji emphasised that the 2008 California Tour was only successful due to the Blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Baba Ji carried out an Ardas asking for Guru Ji to bless everyone with a Gursikhi Jeevan alongside a lifetime in the Khalsa Panth.
